China’s leading EV maker BYD (Build Your Dreams) is all set to expand its lineup in India with the launch of the BYD Atto 2 electric SUV. After introducing models like the Atto 3, Seal, eMax 7, and Sealion, the company is now gearing up to bring its most affordable EV yet, spotted recently testing on Indian roads.
Expected Price in India
The BYD Atto 2 has already been launched in the UK, and reports suggest that its India version will come with minor tweaks. In the Indian market, it is expected to be priced around ₹35 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will directly rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta Electric.
Powerful Battery & Range
If BYD introduces the Euro-spec version in India, the Atto 2 will feature a 45 kWh BYD Blade battery pack, delivering a WLTP-claimed range of up to 463 km on a single charge. The SUV will come with a front-wheel-drive motor producing 174 bhp and 290 Nm torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 km/h.
Features That Stand Out
The Atto 2 doesn’t just pack performance—it’s loaded with premium features, including:
- Mobius Ring LED connected tail-lamps
- NFC key access
- Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
- Panoramic sunroof
- Aluminium roof rails
- Electric folding ORVMs
- Rain-sensing wipers
Design & Road Presence
With its bold front profile and sleek design language, the BYD Atto 2 looks futuristic and sporty. Its styling, combined with a feature-rich cabin and long range, makes it one of the most exciting EV launches lined up for India.
